Based in Melbourne, Australia, nonzerosumgame is a blog by Pierre Meneaud. A blog for the AI-literate, soul-heavy, and future-haunted.

I write at the intersection of machine intelligence, parenthood, and music—where future strategy collides with real life. Expect thoughts on:

  • Brands rebuilt by AI

  • Raising three kids in a rewired world

  • Sound, synthesis, and feeling

  • Grief, tenderness, and radical hope

Not hot takes. Honest futures.

I believe

I believe

I believe that I am created of dirt and water and air and heat. I have no problem believing that I am the descendent of millions of generations of monkeys. I have no constitutional religion, and this upsets my parents, who are devout catholics. They fear that my lack of faith will seal my doom, and I will not be bestowed with blessings if i do not venerate idols in a place of holiness. I personally, have no reason to believe that this event will ever happen.I was baptised Catholic, and raised in a Catholic church.

My father’s mother often tried to convince me that Christian Science, where followers pray to God to heal them instead of seeking medical care, was the answer. I realised the fallacy of her position after getting a headache.

After we died, we would go to heaven and chill with the big man all the time. People normally didn’t do bad things, and if they did, we could always pray for them. This is a scary thing to a seven-year-old. My grandfather made some pretty good points, in my opinion. I don’t consider myself to be a part of any of the religions I grew up with. I have no problem with people of faith, I actually encourage them to find their own spirituality, whether they take one that is already written out for them to live by, or make up one of their own. My only real problem with religion is how these “people of faith” can twist the words of the Bible to harm others. In the Catholic religion, along with other unspecified Christian faiths, there is a strong animosity toward divorced people, believers in other faiths and homosexuals. Yet they call themselves loving…
